TYPICAL REGATTA SCHEDULE FOR LAKE WHITEHURST

Regatta days are busy and we want you to know what to expect. Here is a typical schedule for a day of racing at Lake Whitehurst. Because we count on the participation of your volunteers, we have included schedule information for them.

6:00 AM                        Gates Open. Regatta Office set up crew reports.

7:00 AM                        L.O.C. committee heads meet at picnic shelter.

7:15 AM                        Regatta office opens.

7:15 AM – 8:30 AM       Weigh-ins.

7:15 AM                        Coaches’ Meeting in picnic shelter.

7:30 AM                        Launch Operators Report to Motor Launch Dock for safety briefing and assignments.

7:45 AM                        Coxswain’s Meeting at picnic shelter. National Anthem.

8:00 AM                        Assistant Dock Masters report to dock area; stake boat holders report to motor launch dock. Unassigned volunteers report to picnic shelter.

8:15 AM                        First motor launch departs with stake boat holders.

8:30 AM                        First Launch

9:00 AM                        First Race       

10:15 AM                      Unassigned second shift volunteers report to Regatta Office for briefing and assignments.

10:30 AM                      Volunteer shift change.

12:30 PM -1:00 PM       Racing typically ends.

Awards ceremony commences
fifteen minutes after the final race.
