SIXTEEN TEAMS STRONG AND GROWING

We are a very diverse group. Our sixteen member teams are evenly divided between public high schools and independent preparatory schools. Programs range in size from 13 to more than 65 rowers. This year our teams will boat about 300 men and 360 women ranging in age from 13 to 19 years old.

All of our teams race sweep fours, and most regularly race eights. Our sculling program is growing, and in 2007 we expect spirited competition in a variety of single and double events.

Our teams reflect both the tradition and vibrant growth of scholastic rowing in Eastern Virginia. Several of our programs are well into their second decade; three schools have been rowing two seasons or less. We are always looking for new members as well as visiting competitors. We cordially invite you to our next regatta and would love to talk to your program about membership. We are especially interested in assisting start up rowing programs in Eastern Virginia.
